Vitamin K is necessary for healthy bone mineral density
Vitamin K has been shown to be essential for bone mineralization
because it’s a cofactor for the carboxylation of osteocalcin, a protein
produced by osteoblasts that is responsible for binding calcium and
depositing in the bone. This process is called bone mineralization.
Getting enough vitamin K2
If you’re not getting enough vitamin K2, osteocalcin doesn’t undergo
carboxylation and remains in its inactive form, which means it cannot
bind to calcium and play its role in bone formation.
Enhancing vitamin K with vitamin D3 & calcium
Clinical studies showed that when you combine vitamin K with vitamin
D3 and calcium, there’s a significant increase in bone mass density.
That’s why we include 700 mg of ultra-absorbable calcium and 25 mcg (1000 IU) of vitamin D3 in our Bone Restore Elite formula.
Bone density and menopause
Women go through an additional rapid phase of bone loss during
menopause followed by age-related bone loss at the same rate as men. But
studies of postmenopausal women showed that taking vitamin K2 helped
maintain and even increase bone mineral density.
Other bone healthy nutrients
Like other formulas in our Bone Restore family, Bone Restore Elite
also delivers healthy doses of the trace minerals your bones need:
Magnesium is needed to maintain strong bones and a healthy vascular system.
Bone Restore contains 300 mg of magnesium from magnesium oxide.
Zinc, manganese and silicon are essential for
healthy bone maintenance. You have to have sufficient intake of these
elements to support healthy bone formation.
Boron is a trace mineral with beneficial effects for bone and joint strength.
This formula contains patented Fruitex B® OsteoBoron®, made from a novel calcium/carbohydrate/boron complex.
